Leukemia - Maintenance Week 9 - Catheter is Coming Out

Thursday morning we are scheduled to visit the hospital for a blood count, and to talk to the surgeon, and anesthesiologist prior to surgery. Jemma's benefit is coming up on Thursday evening. Friday morning is surgery day. This is shaping up to be a huge week for us. There is so much going on.

After the visit last Monday I wasn't sure Jemma's catheter would be removed this week, but on Friday her leukocytes rose from 800 on Monday to 2,100 on Friday to 3,200 today. For us it was a great news. Her catheter can be removed.

After our visit on Friday I was asked to talk to a new American family in the cancer ward. They had only been there since Tuesday and their 3 year old son has Leukemia. I hate it that other families have to go through this. Kerri, Aaron, Mason and baby girl we are all thinking about you.
