Plastic Needlepoint Hearts

I am constantly searching for handicrafts simple enough for a five year old that can be easily carried. My daughter has Leukemia, and needlepoint on plastic canvas was a great handicraft for a four day stay at the hospital.

She was very motivated to work on this project and could do it mostly on her own. After I threaded the needle for her the first time and showed her how to run the yarn through the back of other stitches she was well on her way.
