Dubrovnik, Croatia is a UNESCO world heritage city. Located on the Adriatic Sea, it has been built on trade. During the middle ages a wall was built around the city for protection. In 1667 much of the city was destroyed during an earthquake.
This was one of the last places we visited before Jemma got sick. About one month after our visit she was diagnosed with Leukemia. We were on a cruise that stopped several places in the Mediterranean and had an absolutely wonderful time. There are about six blog posts left from that cruise all from the stop in Dubrovnik. I will post one each week for the next six, so I hope you come back next week to see more.

Sponza Palace was built in the 16th century. It was not only a home of a wealthy prince, it served as bank, mint, treasury, armoury and site of state offices.
